What Spider uses to run your server, and why.

Updated on 26 October 2026

01Your Discord account

Signing in gives Spider your Discord ID, username, available avatar and server list. These details identify your account and check which servers you can manage. OAuth credentials keep your session connected to Discord. Member searches query Discord; they do not create a complete copy of a server’s member directory.

02Moderation and protection

Depending on the enabled modules, Spider records member, moderator and server IDs, reasons, dates, sanctions, notes, strikes, reports and protection incidents. Reports can include the author, the reported member and evidence links. Verification records track the result of checks; captcha answers are hashed. These records support moderation decisions and their follow-up.

03Messages, tickets and community features

Enabled message logs can retain available message content and event details. Tickets, transcripts and recruitment forms can contain the messages, answers and attachments you submit. Other enabled features store the settings and participation data they need, such as giveaway entries, levels or personal voice channels. Avoid including sensitive information in free-text fields.

04Statistics, team and profile

Activity statistics use message and character counts and voice activity, without copying message text into those statistics. Team features record staff actions, handovers and voluntarily supplied availability. Presence comes from Discord when available. Profile information you choose to publish, such as your biography, is visible on your public Spider profile.

05The optional assistant

When the AI assistant is configured and used, your requests, conversation history and the server context retrieved for your authorised request can be sent to Groq to generate a response. Assistant conversations and proposed actions are also stored by Spider. Do not submit passwords, tokens or information that is unnecessary for your request.
