Before you begin
Use a Discord account allowed to manage the server. Prepare channels for announcements, verification and logs.
Step by step
On the Spider website, select Add Spider. Choose your server in Discord and approve the requested permissions.
In server role settings, place Spider above the roles it will assign and the members it will moderate.
Sign in to the dashboard with Discord and select your server. Check that Spider is shown as online.
In General, choose the bot language and sanction notifications. In Permissions, set up access for your team.
Configure logs, then one module at a time. Save each configuration; publish its panel whenever a publish button is provided.
Try the setup with a test account that has ordinary member permissions, then check the Journal for the result.
A suggested starting setup
Start with a Member role, a welcome channel, a staff-only channel and a log channel. If you use verification, prepare pending and verified roles with their Discord channel access.
Saving and publishing are separate steps
Saving stores settings in Spider. Publishing creates or updates a Discord entry message, such as a ticket panel, verification panel, role panel or Activity. After changing a panel’s content, use its publish or synchronise action.
Before opening the server
- Check channel permissions with a member account.
- Test roles added and removed by automation.
- Check that staff can perform their work without receiving Administrator.
- Review errors in logs and replace deleted channels or roles.
Questions and solutions
My server is missing
Check your signed-in Discord account, server permissions and whether Spider has joined. During beta or maintenance, the Spider team may also restrict site access.
