Before you begin

Use sanctions.manage to configure templates. Their actions remain subject to Discord permissions and hierarchy.

Step by step

  1. In Rules and sanctions → Sanctions, prepare a clearly named template.

  2. Choose the action, reason and duration where applicable.

  3. Set warning thresholds if you want automatic escalation.

  4. Save and use the template from a rule or a member profile. Check the resulting case afterwards.

Warning thresholds

Thresholds use warning counts. On a trigger, Spider applies the highest reached threshold that has not already been consumed for the member. A new threshold is evaluated on a new warning; creating it does not retroactively punish the whole server.

Warning thresholds and strike points

A warning and a strike point are different measures. Strikes have their own expiry and thresholds tied to templates. Define a clear policy across both modules for understandable escalation.

Practical example

Prepare a 10-minute timeout template and use it in a spam rule and a strike threshold. The template name identifies the response; the reason should explain the observed behaviour.
