Before you begin

Manage Server and the Spider giveaway management permission. Rerolls have a separate Spider permission.

Spider needs View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links and Read Message History in the giveaway and results channels.

Step by step

  1. Open Community → Giveaways, then Create giveaway. Set the prize, channel, end date and winner count.

  2. Optionally add a start date, entry requirements, a results channel and a ticket destination for claims.

  3. In Discord message, customise text and embeds using the visual editor. Save, then publish or schedule the giveaway.

  4. Members use Enter and Leave in Discord. View participants and results under Overview.

  5. The draw runs at the deadline or through End and draw. Use Replace on one winner or Reroll winners to replace all.

Entry requirements and integrity

Require all selected roles or at least one, exclude roles or accounts, set minimum account and server age, a Spider level or verification. Bots are always excluded. Conditions are checked on entry and again at the draw; they are fixed after launch. Each person can have only one active entry.

Draws and rerolls

Spider uses a cryptographically random draw without duplicates. To replace only some winners, select them in the reroll dialog. An empty selection replaces all current winners. Entries are retained and everyone who has already won is excluded from future draws. Reasons and each result are recorded. When there are too few alternatives, a reroll preserves the current winners and shows an error; the initial draw may produce fewer winners if too few members remain eligible.

Prize claims

Set a claim deadline in hours: 0 means no expiry. Winners use Claim my prize. With a ticket destination, Spider asks the selected panel questions and opens a ticket containing the prize and giveaway reference. Repeated claims return the same result. Direct messages are optional; closed DMs do not cancel a win. After the deadline, staff decide whether to reroll; this is not automatic.

Messages and variables

Customise up to two embeds with a combined 3,500 characters of embed text. Spider adds giveaway information and buttons automatically. Use {lot}, {description}, {participants}, {nombre_gagnants}, {fin}, {organisateur}, {serveur} and {gagnants}. Counter updates are batched to limit Discord requests.

Recovery and troubleshooting

Entries, results and pending draws are persistent. After a member verification failure, Resume draw reuses the saved candidate list. If publication or an announcement is unconfirmed, inspect the channel: Synchronise recovers the existing message, optionally using its Discord ID. Resend announcement is an explicit action that may mention winners again. Notification errors never trigger a new draw.

Commands and limits

/giveaway create creates a simple giveaway; info shows its state; end finishes it; cancel cancels it; reroll replaces all winners or the selected member. The dashboard provides full configuration. Limits: 20 winners, 10,000 stored entries per giveaway, 300 retained giveaways per server and 100 draws per giveaway. After launch, you can extend the end and update the message, but entry requirements cannot be changed.
