Honeypot channels

Detect accounts posting in a channel configured as a honeypot.

On this page
Dashboard → Honeypot channels

Step by step

  1. Prepare a dedicated channel and clearly tell members not to post there.

  2. In Protection → Honeypot channels, select the channel, exceptions and response.

  3. Check required permissions, save and enable the module.

  4. Review incidents to distinguish an accidental post from automated behaviour.

Use a dedicated space

Avoid selecting welcome, command or support channels where normal members may legitimately post. Define exceptions for people who need to test or administer the space.

Choose the response

Start with a proportionate response and review the results. The bot needs permissions for the action; hierarchy restrictions and protected targets still apply.
