Before you begin

appeals.manage and cases.view to handle; cases.manage to correct a sanction. Sanction notifications (Settings › General) must be on for the button to appear in DMs.

Step by step

  1. Open Moderation › Appeals and enable the module with the “Enable this module on your server” bar.

  2. Choose a private notification channel (optional) and the appeal window, from 1 to 90 days after the sanction. Save.

  3. When a member appeals, the request appears in the list (“Active requests” filter) and a badge shows in the menu.

  4. Open the request: you see the appeal reason, the original sanction and its moderator. Claim it, then uphold, revoke or reduce the sanction with a message for the member.

Fairness rules

The moderator who issued the sanction cannot review it, unless they own the server. Only one active appeal per case; a new request for the same case requires a seven-day wait. The original reason and history are kept.

Outcome of a decision

Revoking cancels the warning or lifts the current timeout or ban; reducing shortens an active timeout or ban. A revoked kick does not re-invite the member. If Discord does not confirm the correction, use “Check and finalise” after checking the server.

On the member’s side

The member selects “Appeal this sanction” in Spider’s direct message, even if they left or were banned, and explains their request. They receive the answer by direct message.
