Before you begin
Spider needs the Manage Server permission: it is what lets it read invites.
Step by step
Open Community › Invites. Tracking is on by default.
If you want, choose a channel to announce joins: “@Lea joined, invited by @Max · 12 invites”. Nobody is pinged.
Save. The ranking and latest joins fill up as new members arrive.
Members see their figures and the top 10 with
/invites, or another member’s with the member option.
How Spider knows who invited
Discord does not say which invite a member used. Spider remembers how many times each invite was used and checks which one went up when the member joined. If two invites are used in the same second, the join is marked “unknown invite” rather than credited at random. Joins through the server’s custom URL are shown separately.
What counts in the ranking
Only members who are still here count. Accounts younger than 7 days, often alts, are marked “new accounts” and do not count. A member who left and came back counts once.
Invite rewards
Add tiers: at 5, 10 or 25 real invites, Spider gives the chosen role to the inviter. The role is kept if the count drops later. Roles with moderation rights are refused, and the role must be below Spider’s.
Suspicious invites
When many members join at once through the same invite (8 in 60 seconds by default), the staff gets an alert with the invite’s creator and the accounts that joined. Three buttons: delete the invite, kick those accounts, or ignore. Nothing happens without a click, and an account above your role is never kicked.
